Quantity Surveyor

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team. This is a full-time position based in the Upper Thomson Central Region. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of our construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects to ensure financial accuracy and control
• Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to secure favorable terms and maintain project profitability
• Monitor project costs continuously and identify potential savings opportunities to optimize expenditure
• Prepare progress payment claims and final accounts to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
• Provide expert advice on contractual and commercial matters to support project decision-making
• Collaborate effectively with project managers, site teams, and other stakeholders to align financial and operational goals
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards to uphold project integrity and legal requirements

Required competencies and certifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Proficiency in the use of quantity surveying software and tools
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills applied to cost management and contract issues
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities demonstrated in contract discussions and stakeholder engagement
• Thorough understanding of construction contracts and regulations
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
