We currently have an opening for a Junior IT Infrastructure (Capacity) Engineer role for our client in Singapore which is a leading global investment bank. You will be supporting capacity planning activities and work alongside experienced engineers to ensure sufficient space, power, and cooling capacity is available to support business growth while maintaining operational resilience.
Capacity Planning
- Support in the planning and managing of data centre and network room capacity covering space, power, and cooling.
- Assist in analysing infrastructure utilisation and capacity trends.
- Help prepare short, medium, and long-term capacity forecasts.
- Support planning for new infrastructure deployments and expansion projects.
IT Infrastructure Assessment
- Learn how to assess electrical infrastructure including UPS, PDUs, transformers, generators, and redundancy configurations.
- Assist in reviewing cooling infrastructure such as CRAH/CRAC units and chillers.
- Support the identification of capacity constraints and operational risks.
Data Centre Design & Deployment
- Assist with rack planning and data centre layout activities.
- Support load calculations for electrical and cooling systems.
- Learn industry best practices for data centre infrastructure planning.
Inventory & Documentation
- Maintain capacity information within DCIM and asset management systems.
- Assist in validating inventory accuracy and infrastructure records.
- Prepare documentation, reports, and capacity dashboards.
Collaboration
- Work closely with experienced engineers, operations, facilities, network, and hosting teams.
- Participate in project meetings and technical discussions.
- Support vendor coordination and infrastructure implementation activities.
- Degree in Engineering, Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Interest in IT / data centre infrastructure, critical facilities, or enterprise IT infrastructure.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to learn quickly and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good attention to detail and willingness to take ownership of assigned tasks.
Nice-to-have
- Past experience / background in IT infrastructure or Data Centre
- Experience supporting large scale or regulated enterprise environments (e.g. financial institutions).
