Job Scope

1. Investigative & Case Support

  • Assist in conducting preliminary investigations and fact-finding interviews
  • Obtain student and witness statements where appropriate and compile evidence and prepare structured incident reports to relevant KPs for directions

2. Detention & Restorative Follow-Up

  • Supervise daily recesses, lunch time and detention sessions (Mon–Fri)
  • Maintain attendance and behavioural records during the detention sessions
  • Coordinate reflection and restitution activities with SM committee members
  • Facilitate student reflection on choices, consequences and improvement strategies
  • Ensure detention tasks are meaningful and developmental in nature

3. In-House Suspension Support

  • Help establish a structured environment for suspended students
  • Support learning continuity during suspension
  • Guide students through reflective and re-entry support activities

4. Campus Supervision & Prevention

  • Support lower secondary recess dismissal routines
  • Serve as visible adult presence in high movemnt areas

    o Recess/ lunch breaks/ lesson transitions

    • Support proactive discipline strategies
    • Assist in simple peer reconciliation or mediation contexts (where appropriate)

    Deployment & Reporting

    • The DSO will report operationally to the Student Management Committee
    • Deployment schedule will be determined by the school in accordance with the termly school timetable and school events

    Requirements

    1) Working Experience

    • Must have former working experience (preferably more than 10 years) in uniformed service background (Police, Prison Service or equivalent), with involvement in youth-related case investigation and restorative work such as behavioural support.

    Contract Duration: 4 August 2026 (or after the issuance of LOA whichever is later) to 3rd August 2027 (or adjusted according to the actual start date)

    Working Arrangement

    • Mondays & Wednesdays: 9.30am – 4.30pm
    • Tuesdays & Thursdays: 1030am – 5.30pm
    • Fridays: 8.00am – 12.30pm
    • Service not required on Selected Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, gazetted public holidays and school holidays (eg Youth Day)
    • The school may make adjustments to the work schedule for the DSO to support events to meet school needs.

    Location: Ang Mo Kio

    Salary: $30 per hour (average approximately $2,620 per month, depending on the school's deployment schedule and actual service days).
