Position Overview
Position Title: Business Development & Strategic Outreach Intern
Reports To: Founder & CEO
Duration: 3 to 6 months
Location: Singapore (on-site/hybrid, to be confirmed)
Type: Internship, aligned with a university internship program
Eligibility: Must hold independent right to work/intern in Singapore. Aproxy Diagnostics does not sponsor visas or work passes of any kind. Singapore citizens, PRs, or candidates on a valid student pass with internship eligibility (e.g., under an approved university attachment program) are eligible
About the Role
Aproxy Diagnostics is commercializing a DNA-Encoded Immunoassay (DEI/PEAR) platform, targeting applications across infectious disease and neurodegenerative disease diagnostics. The company is expanding its partnership pipeline across research institutions, government bodies, and private sector companies for joint assay development collaborations.
This internship offers direct, close working exposure to the Founder/CEO across strategic outreach, partnership development, and investor-facing communication. The intern will be embedded in the day-to-day cadence of building institutional and commercial relationships for an early-stage diagnostics company, with visibility into how partnership targeting, meeting strategy, and follow-through translate into actual collaboration agreements.
Key Responsibilities
Stakeholder Outreach and Research
- Identify and research targeted stakeholders across research institutions, government agencies, and private sector companies relevant to joint assay development
- Build and maintain a structured outreach database with contact details, institutional priorities, and relevant technical focus areas
- Draft outreach communications and coordinate meeting scheduling on behalf of the CEO
Meeting Support
- Shadow the CEO in stakeholder meetings and calls
- Prepare meeting minutes and action item trackers following each engagement
- Follow up on commitments and maintain a live status log across all active conversations
Reporting and Progress Tracking
- Prepare a weekly progress summary covering outreach volume, meetings held, and pipeline status
- Maintain a running tracker of stakeholder engagement stage, next steps, and owner
- Flag stalled or high-priority items to the CEO proactively
Presentation and Materials Development
- Prepare and update presentation slides for partner and stakeholder meetings
- Support development of one-pagers, briefing notes, and other collateral as needed
Requirements
Education: Recent university graduate or current postgraduate student, science background preferred (life sciences, biotechnology, biomedical engineering, or related field)
Communication: Fluent in English, articulate in both written and verbal communication
Analytical ability: Strong analytical and structured thinking, able to synthesize research into clear, actionable summaries
Software proficiency: Well versed in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word, including building presentation decks and tracking tools from scratch
Domain familiarity: Familiar with immunoassay (IA) platforms and their applications, able to grasp diagnostic assay concepts quickly
Work eligibility: Independent right to work or intern in Singapore, no visa sponsorship available
Attributes: Self-directed, comfortable working in a small early-stage team, discreet with sensitive partnership and commercial information
