Senior Payments Operations

LMA Recruitment is looking for an experienced Payments Operations Leader to oversee a critical banking operations function, driving operational excellence, strong governance, and a high-performing team while delivering exceptional service to internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing operations team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture.
• Ensure the smooth execution of payments operations, maintaining high standards of accuracy, efficiency, and customer service.
• Monitor operational performance against agreed service levels, identifying opportunities to improve productivity and streamline processes.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives and support the implementation of operational and business change programmes.
• Build strong relationships with business partners and key stakeholders to enhance service delivery and operational effectiveness.
• Maintain a robust control environment by ensuring compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and audit expectations.
• Oversee operational risk, incident management, and issue resolution, ensuring timely escalation and remediation where required.
• Manage third-party or outsourced service providers to ensure operational standards and performance expectations are consistently achieved.

Requirements

• Extensive leadership experience in Payments Operations within a banking or financial services environment.
• Strong knowledge of payment operations, operational controls, risk management, and regulatory requirements.
• Proven track record of leading operational teams, improving service delivery, and driving process optimisation.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence across multiple business functions.
• Experience managing operational performance, capacity planning, and service quality in a fast-paced environment.
• A proactive and resilient leader who is comfortable navigating change and delivering results in a dynamic organisation.
