SAP ABAP Expert

We are seeking a world-class Principal SAP ABAP Architect with 15+ years of deep technical experience to design, build, and optimize our core enterprise systems. This is a super-technical, hands-on architecture role. You will be the ultimate authority on SAP development across our global operations, which span heavy extraction (mining), complex asset management (oil & gas), and global supply chain logistics (maritime).

Key Responsibilities

Technical Architecture & Strategy

• Design and govern the end-to-end technical architecture for highly customized SAP landscapes (including S/4HANA, ECC, and industry solutions like IS-Oil and IS-Mining).

• Lead the transition from legacy ABAP to modern development paradigms (RAP/CAP, Clean Core principles, and SAP BTP extensions).

• Optimize high-volume, mission-critical transactions dealing with massive datasets (e.g., real-time telemetry, maritime vessel tracking, and heavy equipment logistics).

• Write, review, and refactor complex, mission-critical ABAP code. Set the gold standard for object-oriented ABAP (OO-ABAP) across the enterprise.

• Architect robust integration patterns connecting SAP with legacy industrial control systems (ICS), SCADA, mine management systems, and maritime IoT gateways using SAP PO/CPI and Event Mesh.

• Design technical frameworks for complex supply chain orchestration, multi-modal transportation (chartering, voyage estimation), and production allocation.

• Establish and enforce strict code quality standards, security baselines, and CI/CD pipelines for SAP development.

Required Technical Skills & Experience

• 15+ years of core SAP ABAP development and architecture experience, with a proven track record of delivering enterprise-grade solutions.

• Expert-level knowledge of OO-ABAP, Enhancement Frameworks (BAdIs, BTEs, User Exits), ALE/IDoc, RFC, and Business Workflows.

• Extensive experience with S/4HANA architecture, CDS Views, AMDP, Eclipse ADT, and the ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP) or Custom Application Programming Model (CAP).

• Proven experience with SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform), API management, OData services, and building side-by-side extensions.
