Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program management.
  • 3 years in vendor management or business development across all levels of an organization.

Preferred qualifications

  • 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Familiarity with data center operations, incident management processes, and operational metrics (e.g., availability SLAs, MTTR, MTBF).
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and management, as well as storytelling skills to drive prioritization decisions using data.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

Regional Technical Program Manager leads data center operations strategic partnership and risk management with third party providers. In this role, your focus will be to systematically identify, capture, measure, and report third party data center risks across our regional portfolio. This will require working across all of 3PDCOps, and coordinating with our Central Operations team, to ensure a consistent, industry standard approach across all capacity for senior leadership visibility and action. Additionally, the ability to engage with 3rd party providers to develop strategic partnerships and manage burn down of risk will be fundamental to success of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and expand relationships with third party providers.
  • Directly manage/support the development and implementation of the data center risk management program at the site and regional level while maintaining awareness of emerging threats to the business.
  • Responsible for leading efforts to identify and drive down risk across Google Data Center Operations. You will work closely with partner organizations, engineers, and business leaders to ensure a holistic approach to data center risk management.
  • Create executive presentations of the above findings and subsequent recommended actions for DCOps, Google Data Centers, and higher leadership (program reviews, Quarterly Business Reviews, etc.).
