Relationship Manager (AVP / VP) – Financial Institutions & Capital Markets

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and driven Relationship Manager to join our Financial Institutions & Capital Markets team. This role is responsible for managing and growing relationships with bank and non-bank financial institution clients, driving business development across deposits, lending and trade finance, while partnering with internal product teams to deliver comprehensive banking solutions.
The successful candidate will play a key role in originating new business opportunities, managing credit risks, executing financing transactions, and supporting cross-border business initiatives in collaboration with Head Office and overseas branches.
Key Responsibilities
Client Coverage & Business Development
- Develop and manage relationships with banks and non-bank financial institution (NBFI) clients.
- Identify new business opportunities and grow existing client portfolios.
- Drive business growth across deposits, lending, trade finance and settlement services.
- Cross-sell Treasury, Debt Capital Markets (DCM), Qualified Foreign Investor (QFI) and Custody products.
Transaction Origination & Execution
- Originate and structure bilateral and syndicated loans, trade finance facilities and risk participation transactions.
- Lead transaction execution, including term sheet negotiation, documentation and internal approvals.
- Coordinate closely with product partners, legal, operations, risk and compliance teams to ensure smooth execution.
Credit & Risk Management
- Conduct credit analysis and prepare:Credit applicationsAnnual reviewsLimit proposals
- Monitor portfolio quality and ensure compliance with internal credit policies and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure all client relationships comply with KYC, AML and internal governance standards.
Portfolio & Distribution
- Build and maintain relationships with financial institution investors for loan and trade asset distribution.
- Support secondary distribution and sell-down of loan and trade finance assets to optimise balance sheet utilisation.
Regional Collaboration
- Work closely with Head Office and overseas branches on cross-border transactions and client referrals.
- Align local business initiatives with Head Office strategies while identifying opportunities within the Singapore market.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Banking or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years’ relevant banking experience, preferably within:Financial Institutions CoverageCorporate BankingTreasury SalesStructured FinanceTrade Finance
- Good understanding of financial institution products, credit assessment and transaction structuring.
- Experience preparing credit applications and presenting credit proposals.
- Strong relationship management, business development and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple transactions and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
