Roles & Responsibilities

Our client, an established social service organisation, is seeking a Therapeutic Care Worker to provide trauma-informed care and guidance to adolescent residents within a residential treatment environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to support residents’ safety, well-being, rehabilitation and personal development.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide trauma-informed care and daily supervision for adolescent residents.
  • Support residents’ physical, emotional, educational, social and mental well-being.
  • Supervise residents during daily routines, activities and programmes.
  • Assist residents in managing day-to-day challenges while ensuring their welfare and safety.
  • Serve as a positive role model and mentor, encouraging responsibility and healthy behaviours.
  • Assess, manage and de-escalate conflicts, crises and challenging behaviours.
  • Implement therapeutic interventions according to individual care plans.
  • Support residents’ rehabilitation, behavioural-management and personal-development goals.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, incident reports and shift handover records.
  • Collaborate with Social Workers, Psychologists, Counsellors and other professionals.
  • Ensure compliance with child-protection, safety and organisational policies.
  • Maintain confidentiality, ethical conduct and professional boundaries.

Requirements

  • Minimum Diploma qualification in any discipline.
  • No prior experience is required; candidates with relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Fresh graduates are welcome.
  • Experience supporting at-risk youths, children or adolescents is advantageous.
  • Basic counselling, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of trauma, abuse, behavioural issues or mental-health conditions is advantageous.
  • Patient, empathetic, emotionally mature and resilient.
  • Able to manage challenging situations calmly and professionally.
  • Able to work independently and collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Able to commit to a rotating three-shift roster, including weekends and Public Holidays.
  • Flexible working arrangements are unavailable due to the residential-care and roster requirements.

Working Hours

  • Five-day work week based on roster.
  • Rotating three-shift schedule.
  • Exact shift hours vary according to operational requirements and roster permutations.
  • Rest days are assigned according to the roster.

Salary and Benefits

  • Basic salary of S$2,500 – S$3,300 per month.
  • Weekday night shift allowance of S$25 per shift.
  • Weekend and Public Holiday night shift allowance of S$35 per shift.
  • Overtime payment, if applicable.
