Apple Maps is at the forefront of Apple's ecosystem supporting hundreds of millions of devices across the globe. Maps Global Collection team collects ground truth data with highly specialized imagery collection systems. The resulting imagery enables key Apple Map functionality and features, including Drive and Walk Navigation, LookAround Imagery, and Indoor Maps.
We are looking for a highly motivated, adaptable and well-rounded individual to join Maps Global Collection team. This role will support data collection projects across Asia-Pac in the following areas - vendor support, data analysis and reporting, mapping equipment and vehicle fleet maintenance. The role will have an approximate split of 80% / 20% between Vendor Management and Logistics-related tasks.
You will be responsible for supporting Maps data-collection projects and running tasks in compliance with Maps Field Operations processes. Although it is a non-technical role it will require excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work cohesively with more technical cross-functional teams and external parties to prepare and execute collection plans, monitor deliverables and performance of collection teams.
On daily basis, the job will require communicating and collaborating with our internal teams /external partners to manage vendor requests, warehouse inventory, responsible for timely door-to-door delivery of Apple devices and equipment. Analytical approach is required to review collection maps data and facilitate performance reporting.
You will experience working with global teams, external vendors, develop documentation and drive process improvements.
Minimum Qualifications
- BA/BSc required
- Possess Operations, Project and Inventory management skillsets
- Process-minded with an attention to detail
- Excellent organizational abilities- confident working with large datasets, manage and prioritise competing tasks and deliver quality results within deadlines
- Ability to adapt to change while maintaining an environment of consistency
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to articulate issues, findings or analysis in a clear and concise manner
- Excellent communications and facilitation skills, both written and verbal, to guide and impose protocols and procedures with remote teams
- Self-driven individual with excellent time and project management skills and sense of urgency.
- Be willing to handle physical hardware/ equipment, arrange for calibration, maintain accurate inventory records
- Experience with Apple product- iOS, Smartphone, Tablet, Mac.
- Proficient in Numbers/ Pages/ Keynote/ MS Excel.
- Language: bilingual in English, Chinese. Japanese as an added bonus
- May be required to travel internationally to vendors’ site to support training as required, up to 25%, 1-2 weeks at a time.
Preferred Qualifications
- Geospatial Intelligence/ Geographical information Systems (GIS) related education
- Proficient in ArcGIS
- Digital mapping experience
- Vendor management experience
