NUS Business School seeks an exceptional leader to transform its Career Services Office into Asia's premier postgraduate talent hub, connecting world-class employers with outstanding graduate talent. The Head will provide strategic leadership and hands-on direction to advance career outcomes for students across the School's MSc, MBA and EMBA programmes. The successful candidate will lead the office through its transition to an exclusive focus on postgraduate students, developing employer partnerships that meet the needs of a predominantly international student population. Crucially, the Head will lead by example, inspiring a culture of innovation, collaboration and accountability, while championing data-driven decision-making, the adoption of digital and AI-enabled technologies, and the delivery of high-quality career advisory services. Resourceful & well networked, the Head will proactively develop a vibrant ecosystem of employers, alumni and industry partners, redefining how Asia's premier business school connects exceptional talent with career opportunities around the world.

Duties & Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership and Team Management:

  • Inspire, develop and lead a high-performing Careers Team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Establish strategic engagement frameworks, operating processes and performance standards that enable the team to achieve the School's internship and graduate placement objectives.
  • Provide strategic leadership for career advisory services, ensuring students receive high-quality, market-relevant guidance.
  • Champion the effective adoption of digital technologies and AI-enabled tools to enhance operational efficiency, service delivery and data-driven decision-making.
  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives that advance the Business School's vision of becoming a leading global talent hub.

Employer Engagement and Business Development:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive employer engagement strategy to nurture high-value hiring partnerships in Singapore and internationally.
  • Identify and prioritise strategic employer segments, designing customized engagement plans that create long-term value for both employers and the School.
  • Build strong relationships with relevant employers, industry associations, professional bodies, community partners and alumni to expand internship and graduate employment opportunities.
  • Leverage personal industry networks to strengthen employer partnerships and create new career pathways for students and alumni.
  • Represent the Business School at industry events, networking engagements and employer forums to enhance the School's visibility and reputation.

Stakeholders Collaboration:

  • Build strong relationships with academic and administrative stakeholders through proactive communication, strengthening trust, collaboration and service excellence across the School.
  • Work closely with programme offices to integrate career development into the overall student experience and enhance student employability.
  • Collaborate with faculty, alumni and external partners to develop initiatives that strengthen employer engagement and student outcomes.

Data, Insights and Reporting:

  • Oversee the collection, analysis and reporting of graduate employment outcomes and internship data, with an emphasis on accuracy, thoroughness and timeliness. Where applicable, effectively coordinate efforts with relevant programme offices.
  • Establish performance metrics and regularly evaluate the effectiveness of career initiatives, using data and labour market intelligence to drive continuous improvement.
  • Employ digital technologies and AI-enabled tools to enhance operational efficiency, service delivery and data-driven decision-making.
  • Partner with the School’s departments, programme offices and the Dean's Office to apply insights to strengthen programmes and career services.

Administration:

  • Lead the Office's strategic planning, budgeting and resource allocation to support long-term objectives.
  • Review and streamline operational processes to improve efficiency, consistency and service quality.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 15+ years of leadership experience with a focus on global job placement.
  • Proven track record in global business development, understanding employment trends and preferably career coaching as well
  • Understands social and economic factors shaping the external environment and their strategic impact on both employers and job seekers
  • Excellent written/verbal communicator. Has the necessary ‘executive presence’ needed for external and internal relationship development. Able to effectively engage stakeholders globally
  • Strategic thinker adept at resolving complex issues in a fast-paced global environment
  • Relishes the challenge of business development across a variety of geographies and potential partners
  • Motivated by the opportunity to transform a team, elevate their capabilities and promote a culture of excellence
  • Extensive global network and experience in facilitating international job placements
  • Resilient, resourceful, and able to thrive under pressure
  • Comfortable with regional and international travel for business development
  • Pleasant, positive and inspiring
