Clinical Laboratory Assistant (2-Year Contract)

Responsibilities
- Prepare and set up the Procedural Skills Laboratory (PSL) for clinical training, simulation sessions, and research activities.
- Prepare, handle, and maintain specimens for medical education, simulation programmes, and research in accordance with established protocols.
- Provide technical and logistical support during clinical workshops, training sessions, and simulation-based learning activities.
- Assist with cadaver handling procedures, including embalming, dissection, storage, and preparation while adhering to safety and ethical standards.
- Perform radiography duties when required to support training and educational activities.
- Monitor, maintain, and replenish laboratory equipment, consumables, and inventory to ensure operational readiness.
- Coordinate with internal departments, external vendors, and service providers to facilitate laboratory operations and programme requirements.
- Support the administration of the Body Donation Programme and Tissue Bank Programme, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised laboratory environment by adhering to workplace safety, infection control, and quality assurance standards.
- Assist in administrative duties, documentation, and continuous process improvement initiatives to support the efficient operation of the laboratory.
Requirement
- Diploma or Degree in Biomedical Science, Life Sciences, Nursing, Allied Health, Medical Technology, or other relevant disciplines.
- Prior experience in a clinical laboratory, healthcare, simulation, or research environment is an advantage.
- Comfortable handling biological specimens and cadaver-related work in accordance with safety and ethical guidelines.
- Good organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
