Senior Test Automation Engineer

Brief Summary

We are seeking a Senior QA / Test Automation Engineer to enhance quality standards and testing capabilities, ensuring reliability in software solutions. This pivotal role combines manual and automated testing strategies to secure seamless software releases.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated tests for web applications, APIs, and internal platforms.

• Execute manual and exploratory testing where automation is not feasible.

• Build and enhance test automation frameworks and reusable test scripts.

• Collaborate with product teams to clarify acceptance criteria and release scopes.

• Partner with software engineers to assess design and identify potential risks.

• Participate in backlog refinement to identify relevant testing workflows and quality risks.

• Create and maintain comprehensive test documentation aligned with project requirements.

• Identify, document, and track defects using appropriate tools, ensuring clarity and prioritization.

• Assess regression impact from fixes and validate readiness for production releases.

• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines in coordination with development teams.

• Analyze test failures and environment-related issues to support clear defect identification.

• Assist in user acceptance testing by guiding stakeholders in preparing validation scenarios.

• Communicate testing progress, quality risks, and readiness for release to stakeholders.

• Contribute to post-release analysis to improve testing processes and frameworks.

• Mentor junior QA engineers to uphold and enhance QA practices across teams.

Requirements

• A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a relevant field.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in software quality assurance, with expertise in both manual and automated testing.

• Proven ability to build and maintain test automation frameworks using tools like Playwright, Cypress, and Selenium.

• Solid understanding of various testing methods, including regression and API testing.

• Proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, Python, or Java.

• Familiarity with API testing tools and integration into CI/CD workflows.

• Practical SQL knowledge for data validation and defect investigation.

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.

• Excellent communication skills, able to convey testing outcomes and quality concerns to diverse audiences.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a geographically distributed team.
