About the Role
The Executive Officer/Senior Executive Officer, Finance plays a key role in ensuring the smooth and effective management of Pro Bono SG's financial operations. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will support the organisation through accurate financial processing, robust internal controls, and timely reporting that enables informed decision-making and responsible stewardship of resources.
The role works closely with internal stakeholders and external parties, including auditors, regulatory agencies, grantors, donors, and funding partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Process financial transactions accurately and on a timely basis in the accounting system, ensuring proper coding, complete supporting documentation, and compliance with Finance SOPs.
- Administer banking transactions and payments, including preparing supporting documents for approval by authorised signatories and maintaining proper records.
- Maintain and update finance records and documentation, including invoices, forms, schedules, and other supporting information.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including reconciliations, accruals, and the preparation of supporting schedules and reports.
- Prepare financial reports, analyses, and schedules for Management, the Audit Committee, Finance Committee, Law Society Singapore Finance Committee, and the Board, as required.
- Support the preparation of annual budgets, cash flow projections, financial statements, and periodic financial reviews and forecasts.
- Coordinate and provide information required for internal and external audits and support responses to audit queries.
- Prepare financial reports and schedules for grant claims, donor reporting, and submissions to regulatory and compliance agencies, including IRAS and the Commissioner of Charities, where applicable.
- Monitor fund and reserve movements to ensure compliance with approved policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
- Review and enhance finance-related SOPs, processes, and controls to improve efficiency, governance, and compliance.
- Collaborate with departments across the organisation on financial matters relating to projects, programmes, and fundraising initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or an equivalent professional qualification.
- At least two years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, or a similar role.
- Experience in the non-profit or charity sector will be an advantage.
- Experience with Xero and/or other ERP systems is preferred.
- Familiarity with AI applications and digital tools will be an advantage.
