Job Summary

The Assistant Cook supports meal preparation and cooking under the Head Cook or Chef while maintaining a clean, organized kitchen that meets food safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook meals following instructions from the Head Cook or Chef to ensure timely service
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen to comply with food safety and hygiene standards
  • Apply basic food preparation and hygiene practices to ensure safe handling of ingredients
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to support smooth kitchen operations
  • Stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights to handle kitchen tasks efficiently

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Four years of experience in a kitchen or food service environment is an advantage
