Job Details
Financial Management & Reporting
- Lead and oversee the full spectrum of finance and accounting operations, including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Cash Management, and Fixed Assets.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Review and approve journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial schedules prepared by the finance team.
- Monitor financial performance, analyse variances, and provide recommendations to management.
- Ensure proper maintenance of accounting records in compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Business Planning
- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
- Develop financial models and projections to support business planning and decision-making.
- Monitor budget performance and provide regular financial analysis to management.
- Partner with management and department heads on financial planning and cost control initiatives.
Cash Flow & Treasury Management
- Manage the company's cash flow, banking facilities, and working capital requirements.
- Monitor cash positions and ensure sufficient funding for operational and project requirements.
- Review cash flow forecasts and recommend strategies to optimize liquidity.
- Liaise with banks, financial institutions, auditors, tax agents, and external stakeholders.
Project Accounting & Cost Control
- Oversee project accounting, including progress billing, project costing, retention sums, and revenue recognition.
- Review project financial performance and profitability.
- Work closely with project and operational teams to monitor project budgets and costs.
- Ensure accurate and timely billing of projects and collection of receivables.
Audit, Taxation & Compliance
- Lead annual statutory audits and coordinate with external auditors.
- Oversee corporate tax, GST submissions, tax planning, and all statutory reporting requirements.
- Ensure compliance with Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS), Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA), Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS), and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Strengthen internal controls, risk management policies, and governance practices.
Team Leadership & People Management
- Lead, mentor and develop the finance team.
- Establish performance objectives and provide guidance to finance staff.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development.
Process Improvement & Digitalisation
- Drive finance transformation initiatives and process improvements.
- Develop and improve finance policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Identify automation opportunities to improve efficiency and reporting accuracy.
Corporate & Administrative Support
- Oversee corporate secretarial, licensing and regulatory requirements.
- Support management on strategic projects, investments, and business initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned by senior management.
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, ACCA, CPA, CA Singapore, or equivalent professional qualification.
- Minimum 8–10 years of relevant accounting and finance experience, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial position.
- Prior experience in the Built Environment, Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or Project-Based industry will be advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of Singapore accounting standards, corporate tax, GST, and statutory compliance requirements.
- Experience in project accounting, progress billing, retention management, and cost control.
- Proven experience managing audits, taxation, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning.
- Proficient in SAGE accounting systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical, leadership, and business partnering skills.
- Ability to work independently and lead a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
