Senior Software Engineering Manager (AI & Mobile)

Role Overview

Rida Global is seeking a hands-on Senior Software Engineering Manager to lead the planning and delivery of our software, mobile and AI-enabled solutions for transport and logistics operations.

The role combines software engineering leadership, Android development, mobile engineering management and implementation of practical AI-enabled workflows. The successful candidate will work closely with product, operations and management teams to translate business requirements into scalable, secure and maintainable software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, development and delivery of software systems across Rida’s transport, logistics and delivery platforms.
• Organise and maintain engineering roadmaps, priorities, milestones, dependencies and resource plans across technical workstreams.
• Oversee the development of proofs of concept, platform features and AI-enabled workflow solutions.
• Translate business and product requirements into technical architecture, implementation plans and delivery timelines.
• Lead the rollout and integration of AI features that improve workflow automation, operational efficiency and product capability.
• Monitor software quality, system performance, security, technical risks and project delivery outcomes.
• Manage mobile engineering delivery across Android and iOS applications.
• Contribute hands-on to Android architecture, development, code review, debugging, performance optimisation and release support.
• Resolve production issues, technical debt and integration issues involving mobile, backend and third-party systems.
• Establish effective engineering planning, testing, code-review, security and release-management processes.
• Guide engineers and coordinate employees, contractors and technical vendors.
• Provide management with clear progress updates and escalate delivery risks or technical blockers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
• At least 8 years of software engineering experience, including substantial hands-on application-development experience.
• At least 3 years of technical leadership or software-development management experience.
• Strong Android development experience using Kotlin and/or Java.
• Experience managing mobile applications, backend integrations and software-development lifecycles.
• Experience implementing AI-enabled features, workflow automation or machine-learning integrations in production environments.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, code quality, testing, security and release management.
• Ability to translate operational requirements into technical solutions and delivery plans.
• Strong communication, stakeholder-management and engineering leadership skills.
• Experience with logistics, transport, routing, delivery-management or operational workflow platforms is advantageous.
