BUILDING PAINTER

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Building Painter to prepare, paint, repair, and finish interior and exterior surfaces of residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. The successful candidate will ensure high-quality workmanship while complying with workplace safety standards and project requirements.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, work instructions, and specifications to determine the scope and requirements of painting work.
• Prepare work sites by erecting scaffolding, covering fixtures, and protecting surrounding areas.
• Prepare walls and other surfaces by scraping, sanding, patching, and removing old paint or coatings.
• Fill cracks, holes, and damaged surfaces using suitable materials such as plaster or fillers.
• Mix paints, primers, and other coating materials to achieve the required colour, texture, and finish.
• Apply paint, varnish, sealants, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, spray equipment, and other painting tools.
• Inspect completed work and perform touch-ups to ensure quality standards are met.
• Calculate material requirements and minimise material wastage during projects.
• Maintain painting tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Follow all workplace safety procedures and wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Perform other painting and maintenance duties assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements & Skills

• Proven experience as a Building Painter in commercial, industrial, or construction projects.
• Excellent knowledge of painting materials, coatings, and application techniques.
• Strong understanding of surface preparation, painting methods, and finishing techniques.
• Skilled in using painting tools and equipment, including brushes, rollers, spray guns, and caulking tools.
• Ability to work at heights using scaffolding, ladders, and elevated work platforms.
• Good physical fitness with excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
