Science Laboratory Assistant (Primary School)

We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Science Laboratory Assistant to manage day-to-day operations and support the Science curriculum. The successful candidate will ensure that laboratory facilities, resources, and equipment are maintained safely and are readily available for teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Laboratory Operations: Oversee daily setups and maintain a clean, tidy, and organized laboratory or preparation room environment.
• Lesson Support: Prepare, arrange, and clear apparatus, reagents, specimens, and materials for practical experiments, curriculum lessons, and ad-hoc Science activities.
• Inventory Management: Track usage and breakages, perform annual stocktaking, update logs, and handle the administrative procurement requests for equipment or consumables.
• Lab Safety & Compliance: Enforce standard school laboratory guidelines, ensure proper storage and chemical record-keeping, and report potential safety hazards immediately.
• Administrative Tasks: Support departmental programs (e.g., E2K, Green Club, or STEM activities) and handle resource distribution such as teacher desktop resource copies.

Education: Minimum GCE O-Level certificate with a pass in at least one Science subject (candidates with Science-related diplomas or certifications preferred).

Experience: Preferably

3 years of prior experience working as a laboratory assistant within an educational institution.

Skills: Proficiency in safe laboratory practices, material preparation, stock inventory control, and basic computer/IT literacy for documentation.

Attributes: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating high responsibility and strong organizational skills.

Working Hours

• Mondays to Thursdays: 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM (includes 1-hour lunch break).
• Fridays: 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM (includes 1-hour lunch break).
• No weekends or public holiday duties required.
