Network Support Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Network Support Engineer to provide Level 1 network infrastructure support and assist with ongoing enterprise installations. Based 100% onsite in Toa Payoh to maintain, optimize, and troubleshoot a complex multi-vendor network environment.

This role requires a hands-on technical professional with a solid background in enterprise network operations, routine system upgrades, firewall management, and critical incident resolution.

Key Responsibilities

Network Operations & Administration

  • Daily Support & Maintenance: Operate, manage, and maintain enterprise server, network, and firewall systems across multi-vendor environments (Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Check Point, F5, HP, Extreme Networks).

  • System Upgrades & Maintenance: Plan, schedule, and execute routine network maintenance, including hardware replacements, infrastructure enhancements, and regular firmware upgrades.

  • Configuration & Security Management: Perform routine, scheduled configuration backups for all network equipment and firewall rules. Implement approved routing policy changes to resolve traffic congestion during planned or unplanned incidents.

  • Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor network performance, security integrity, and traffic metrics; escalate and collaborate with third-party vendors for hardware/software resolution when required.

Project & Installation Support

  • Deployment & Setup: Support ongoing network installations, infrastructure augmentations, and production environment rollouts.

  • Milestone Planning: Assist in planning network installation and upgrade projects, setting up user stations, assigning task milestones, and ensuring full compliance with company deadlines, security policies, and permission standards.

Incident Management & Troubleshooting

  • Issue Resolution: Perform hands-on troubleshooting and root cause analysis (RCA) to rapidly diagnose and resolve network anomalies across switches, routers, firewalls, and VPNs.

  • Critical Incident Response: Lead Level 1 incident response during high-severity network events, coordinating repair efforts and managing real-time technical updates to internal and external stakeholders.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Work Location & Authorization: Must be currently based in Singapore and fully willing to work

    100% onsite in Toa Payoh daily.

  • Certification: Active

    Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification is mandatory.

  • Experience: Minimum 3

    + years of hands-on experience in enterprise network infrastructure support and operations.

  • Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field.

  • Technical Expertise: Strong hands-on proficiency in Cisco products (routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs).

  • Multi-Vendor Skills: Practical technical experience managing LAN Switches, WAN Routers, Wireless Controllers, Access Points, Load Balancers, and Firewalls across vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, HP, Palo Alto, Check Point, Fortinet, F5, Extreme Networks, and Bluecoat.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Industry Experience: Prior experience supporting large-scale enterprise or banking environments.

  • Vendor Expertise: Deep familiarity with Juniper and Palo Alto environments.

  • Additional Certifications: CCIE, CCNA, PCNSE, CCSA, or Juniper certs (JNCIA / JNCIP / JNCIE) are an advantage.

  • Soft Skills: Strong verbal and written technical communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical issues clearly to both non-technical users and senior leadership.
