Responsibilities for Healthcare Attendant
- Ensure patient safety and provide care support under the supervision of Registered Nurses.
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, oral care, nail care, and elimination needs.
- Support patient mobility, including transfers, repositioning, and mobilisation as required.
- Provide van escort assistance to support patient transportation to and from the Hospice.
- Monitor and record patients’ vital signs, including weight, temperature, and blood pressure.
- Support patients’ dietary needs by assisting with meal ordering, serving meals and beverages, and feeding assistance when required.
- Manage food pantry operations, including food storage, stock monitoring, and ensuring food safety standards.
- Maintain infection control standards through proper hand hygiene, waste disposal, standard precautions, and isolation practices.
- Assist with administrative tasks including data entry, documentation, and filing.
- Observe and promptly report patients’ conditions and changes to the Registered Nurse.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised patient care environment.
- Uphold patient confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.
- Keep updated with relevant healthcare guidelines and continuously develop job-related skills.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing, Registered Nurse, or Day Care Manager.
Qualifications for Healthcare Attendant
- Minimum GCE 'O' Level or Certificate in Healthcare Assistant
- At least 2 years of relevant experience as a Patient Care Assistant
- Passionate about delivering quality patient care and support.
- Strong sense of responsibility with a compassionate, patient-focused, and courteous approach.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
