Customer Support Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will provide dedicated technical and operational support for vessels equipped with ABB AZIPOD systems in Singapore.

The role will focus on ensuring reliable and efficient operation of the AZIPOD systems through onboard technical support, troubleshooting, maintenance assistance, coordination with relevant ABB teams, and close collaboration with the customer and vessel crew.

• Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, fault investigation, and technical assessment of AZIPOD equipment.
• Provide technical recommendations and support the vessel crew in resolving operational issues.
• Review equipment performance, alarms, fault history, and relevant technical data to identify potential issues.
• Escalate complex technical matters to relevant ABB global engineering and product specialists when required.
• Attend vessels when required to support commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, inspections, repairs, and other technical activities.
• Support planned and unplanned maintenance activities related to AZIPOD systems.
• Work closely with the vessel’s technical team and crew to ensure safe and effective execution of technical activities.
• Provide technical guidance during port calls and minimize equipment downtime and operational disruption.

Qualifications for the role

• Engineering qualification in Electrical, Automation, Marine, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Strong technical experience with ABB AZIPODpropulsion systems.
• Experience in marine, cruise, offshore, or shipboard environments is preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working directly with vessel crews and marine customers.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and respond effectively to urgent technical issues.
• Willingness to travel and attend vessels, including outside normal working hours when operationally required.
• Strong commitment to safety and quality.
