Assistant Coach (Baseball)

The Singapore Baseball & Softball Association (SBSA) is seeking to hire a high-performance coach for the National Men’s Baseball team. The coach must have prior experience playing the sport at the international level (i.e. represent country) or collegiate level and above.

Responsibilities

● Plan and execute training sessions for the National Men's Baseball Development Team (Men’s open category)

● Travel with the National team for overseas training and competitions

● Support the development of local coaches and athletes in baseball technical and tactical skills, sports science, and character development.

● Work alongside National Men’s Baseball Committee to plan tactical strategies that would best suit the team’s strengths and needs

● Develop and execute development programmes across various age groups (U12, U15, U18, U23), whenever possible

Minimum Qualifications

● Must have prior experience playing the sport at the international level (i.e. represent country) or collegiate level and above overseas (Please state the teams you have played for and duration of involvement)

● Able to communicate in basic English and to be based in Singapore

● Able to manage working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications

● Past or present baseball coaching certifications from BFA/WBSC

● Prior coaching experience of 3 years or more in baseball or softball at the international or collegiate level

● Prior experience as a Coach of a competitive baseball team, particularly at major multi-sport events such as the SEA Games or Asian Games, will be an advantage

● Ability to work independently while maintaining good team work with other volunteers and/or potential future assistant coaches or trainers
