Financial Controller

Position Summary

The Finance Controller provides overall leadership of the Company’s finance function and is accountable for financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, taxation, audit, internal controls, compliance, and financial planning.

The role serves as a strategic business partner to the General Manager and department leaders (HODs) by providing timely financial insights, evaluating business opportunities, managing risks, and ensuring the organization’s financial resources are effectively deployed to support sustainable growth.

The successful candidate will also lead finance transformation initiatives, strengthen processes and controls, develop the finance team, and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Leadership

• Partner with the General Manager in developing and executing the Company’s financial strategy.

• Provide financial insight to support commercial and operational decision-making.

• Evaluate business opportunities, investments, pricing strategies, and capital expenditure proposals.

• Support long-term business planning and sustainable growth initiatives.

Financial Planning & Analysis

• Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process.

• Monitor business performance through meaningful financial analysis and KPI reporting.

• Identify business trends, risks, and opportunities and recommend appropriate actions.

• Support resource allocation and workforce investment decisions.

Financial Reporting & Governance

• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

• Maintain compliance with statutory reporting requirements and accounting standards.

• Present financial performance and recommendations to senior leadership.

Treasury & Cash Flow Management

• Oversee cash flow planning and liquidity management.

• Optimize working capital and strengthen financial discipline across the organization.

• Maintain effective banking relationships.

Risk Management & Internal Controls

• Develop and strengthen financial controls and governance practices.

• Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

• Lead external and internal audit activities.

Tax & Compliance

• Oversee corporate tax compliance and statutory filings.

• Ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations.

Leadership & People Development

• Lead, coach, and develop the finance team.

• Build a collaborative, high-performing finance function.

• Foster a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and operational excellence.

Finance Transformation

• Drive finance process improvements and automation initiatives.

• Improve reporting capabilities, systems, and business intelligence.

• Champion continuous improvement across finance operations.
