About the role

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team. You will play a crucial role in ensuring cost effectiveness, contractual compliance, and project profitability across our construction projects. Your expertise will be fundamental to the success of our projects, supporting both operational teams and senior management in delivering value for money and managing financial risks throughout the project lifecycle.

What you'll be doing

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects, including material, labour, and overhead costs

  • Conduct site surveys and measurements to verify quantities of work completed and ensure accurate billing

  • Manage variations and change orders, assessing the financial impact and ensuring appropriate documentation and approval

  • Prepare and process interim valuations for progress payments to contractors and subcontractors

  • Review and negotiate contract terms, specifications, and conditions to identify cost-saving opportunities and manage risks

  • Maintain accurate records of all contractual agreements, amendments, and correspondence

  • Conduct cost analysis and value engineering to optimise project budgets without compromising quality or safety standards

  • Liaise with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to resolve contractual and financial matters

  • Prepare final accounts and closeout documentation upon project completion

  • Monitor cash flow and expenditure against approved budgets, providing regular cost reports and forecasts

What we're looking for

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry

  • Extensive experience in contracts management and commercial contract administration

  • Proven expertise in cost estimation, budgeting, and financial forecasting on construction projects

  • Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, materials, and industry practices

  • Excellent proficiency with quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office applications

  • Detailed understanding of contract terms, conditions, and variations management

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels

  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong numerical accuracy

  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
