Job Summary

Assist Senior Montessori teacher in caring for children aged 18 months to 6 years by maintaining a supportive classroom environment, preparing instructional materials, and ensuring children’s hygiene and emotional well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Senior Montessori teacher in delivering daily classroom activities and supporting children’s learning
  • Provide attentive care for babies aged 18 months to 3 years, including diaper changing and hygiene maintenance in the morning (AM)
  • Support Nursery (N), K1, and K2 classes in the afternoon by assisting the main teacher with classroom management and student engagement
  • Maintain a calm and orderly Montessori classroom environment that meets students’ developmental needs
  • Prepare and organize instructional materials by typing, duplicating, cutting, and modifying craftwork to support lessons
  • Observe student behaviors and model grace and courtesy to promote independence and social skills
  • Monitor the classroom environment to prevent student overwhelm and anxiety
  • Engage children actively by interacting and encouraging exploration of their surroundings
  • Assist children with toiletry needs promptly and hygienically
  • Keep the classroom tidy and organized throughout the day
  • Communicate regularly and openly with lead teachers to discuss class goals and individual student progress
  • Report any classroom issues such as discipline, health concerns, or equipment needs to the lead teacher
  • Supervise free play activities and perform ad-hoc duties as requested to support smooth classroom operations

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Diploma in Montessori Methods of Teaching
  • 2-5 years of Experience working with young children in a Montessori school setting
  • Ability to adapt to changing needs of children and the school environment
  • Demonstrated cooperative work skills and willingness to take on assigned responsibilities
  • Positive, dedicated, and responsible attitude with strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English to support classroom collaboration and student interaction
