Role summary
We are looking for a Payroll Specialist / Senior Specialist who takes pride in getting the details right and is passionate about delivering a smooth and reliable payroll experience for employees. You will play an important role in managing the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring timely and accurate salary payments, statutory compliance, and high standards of data integrity. Working closely with HR and Finance, you will also have the opportunity to improve payroll processes and drive greater efficiency across payroll operations.
Key responsibilities
· Own and manage the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely payroll computation, salary payments, and bank file submissions.
· Ensure payroll data is accurate and up to date, including employee salaries, deductions, benefits, bank details, attendance, and other payroll inputs.
· Act as a key point of contact for payroll matters, investigating and resolving payroll queries and discrepancies promptly and effectively.
· Ensure compliance with Singapore payroll legislation and statutory requirements, including CPF submissions and refunds, NS claims, and government-paid leave claims.
· Prepare payroll reports and support audits, ensuring strong data accuracy, integrity, confidentiality, and internal controls.
· Partner closely with HR and Finance to ensure seamless payroll operations and effective resolution of payroll-related matters.
· Identify opportunities to streamline work flows, strengthen controls, and improve payroll processes to enhance efficiency and employee experience.
· Stay abreast of changes in payroll legislation and proactively implement necessary updates to payroll processes and practices.
· Support payroll-related projects and continuous improvement initiatives, as well as other HR activities where required.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, with a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in payroll, C&B, HR operations, or a related HR function.
- Hands-on experience in Singapore payroll processing, with a good understanding of local employment legislation and statutory requirements.
- Experience in the semiconductor, manufacturing, or similar industrial environment will be an advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with SAP SuccessFactors or other HRIS/payroll systems will be an advantage.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet critical payroll deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and work collaboratively with stakeholders across all levels.
- Proactive, adaptable, and solutions-oriented, with a growth mindset and willingness to learn and embrace new challenges.
- Demonstrates a high level of integrity and discretion when handling sensitive and confidential employee information.
- IHRP certification will be an advantage.
