BMC Control-M Specialist

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and support BMC Control-M scheduling and job processing environments.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot production jobs, workflows, and scheduling-related incidents.
  • Support middleware technologies including Axway CFT, SecureTransport, Sentinel, and IBM MQ.
  • Perform operational support across Linux, Unix, and/or Windows environments.
  • Use monitoring and service management tools such as OMI, ServiceNow, and Geneos.
  • Develop and maintain automation/scripts using Java, Unix Shell, Python, PowerShell, and/or Perl.
  • Participate in Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes in line with ITIL practices.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues, identify root causes, and coordinate with relevant teams for resolution.
  • Support technologies such as Docker/Kubernetes, Ansible, Elasticsearch, Rundeck, and Git where applicable.
  • Participate in shift-based operations and rotational on-call support.
  • Maintain effective communication with customers, stakeholders, and internal technical teams.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 4 years of relevant technical experience in enterprise IT operations/support.
  • Hands-on experience with BMC Control-M.
  • Experience with one or more of Linux, Unix, and Windows operating systems.
  • Experience with Axway CFT/SecureTransport/Sentinel and/or IBM MQ.
  • Familiarity with OMI, ServiceNow, and Geneos.
  • Scripting/programming knowledge in Java, Unix Shell, Python, PowerShell, and/or Perl.
  • Good understanding of ITIL Service Management, including Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
  • Exposure to Docker/Kubernetes, Ansible, Elasticsearch, Rundeck, and Git is an advantage.
  • Willingness to work in shifts and participate in rotational on-call support.
  • Strong analytical, logical, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Customer-focused approach with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
