Job Summary
Manage and execute Ship-to-shore and Quaycrane automation projects from planning through installation, testing, commissioning, and final handover, ensuring quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and manage automation projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to schedule, budget, and quality standards
- Develop and control project schedules, allocate manpower and resources, and manage project costs and deliverables to meet objectives
- Collaborate with customers, suppliers, contractors, and engineering teams to align project goals and resolve issues
- Lead installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities at customer sites to ensure system functionality and compliance
- Manage PLC, control system, electrical, and automation-related project requirements to meet technical specifications
- Review technical specifications, drawings, and project documentation to verify accuracy and completeness
- Identify project risks and implement solutions to resolve technical and site-related challenges promptly
- Prepare detailed progress reports and provide regular project status updates to management and customers
- Coordinate project handover processes and deliver after-sales technical support as needed
- Attend project and technical meetings with customers to communicate progress and address concerns
Required competencies and certifications
- Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Automation, Mechatronics, or related Engineering discipline
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing industrial automation, electrical/control systems, or engineering projects
- Proficient in Quaycrane PLC, HMI, sensors, control panels, VFDs, and industrial automation systems
- Skilled in Quaycrane retrofitting, installation, testing, and commissioning
- Ability to read electrical drawings and understand control systems
- Strong project planning, coordination, and problem-solving skills applied to complex automation projects
- Effective communication skills for engaging with customers, suppliers, and technical teams
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Willingness to perform site work as required
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Experience in Ship-To-Shore (STS) or Quaycrane (QC) automation conversion projects
- Knowledge of PLC and industrial automation control systems beyond core requirements
- Familiarity with sensors and safety systems in industrial automation
- Experience troubleshooting and commissioning STS/QC equipment
