Senior / Staff Nurse (Hospital setting)

As a Senior / Staff Nurse, you will play a key role in delivering direct patient care, coordinating multidisciplinary treatment plans, and mentoring the next generation of nursing professionals.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities (80%)

  • Patient Assessment & Care Planning: Assess patient needs upon admission and continuously throughout their stay; formulate, implement, and evaluate individualised care plans.

  • Clinical Care Delivery: Execute treatments, diagnostic investigations, and medication administration as prescribed by physicians in accordance with clinical safety standards.

  • Documentation & Monitoring: Accurately document patient progress, treatments, and clinical outcomes on standard health records and electronic forms.

  • Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Participate in physician rounds, communicate patient progress with allied health professionals, and coordinate multi-specialty care to ensure continuity of care.

  • Patient & Family Education: Deliver health education, disease prevention advice, and rehabilitation guidance to patients and their care-givers.

  • Resource & Environment Management: Ensure the safe and economical use of clinical equipment and consumables while maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant environment.

  • Clinical Leadership & Mentorship: Supervise, guide, and orientate junior staff, Enrolled Nurses, and nursing students on clinical rotation; assume the role of Staff Nurse-in-Charge during assigned shifts.

Secondary Duties & Responsibilities (20%)

  • Quality & Service Improvement: Participate actively in clinical quality assurance, patient safety initiatives, infection control audits, and nursing research projects.

  • Professional Development: Maintain currency with evidence-based nursing practices, healthcare standards, and unit-specific clinical competencies.

  • Departmental Support: Undertake administrative or operational duties assigned by Nursing Leadership.

  • Professional Registration: Must be registered as a Registered Nurse (RN) with the

    Singapore Nursing Board (SNB) and hold a valid Practising Certificate.

  • Education: Diploma in Nursing or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution approved by the SNB.
