To support our global growth, we are seeking a seasoned Full / Part-Time Senior Opto-Mechanical Engineer.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced, self-driven Senior Engineer for a flexible, part-time position. This role is ideal for a veteran engineer or retiree looking for a highly flexible schedule, zero commuting, and impactful technical work. You will guide the mechanical architecture of our optical systems and mentor our scaling team.

Work Arrangement & Compensation

• Location: 100% Work from Home / Remote.
• Hours: Flexible part-time hours (to be mutually agreed upon).
• Budget: Structured compensation (hourly or project-based retainer) tailored for senior expertise within a lean framework.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-level conceptualization and architecture design for opto-mechanical systems.
• Review fabrication, assembly, and layout drawings using 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks).
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues related to thermal stability and vibration in optical systems.
• Define technical specifications and establish robust engineering standards and SOPs.
• Advise cross-functional teams (optics, electronics, software) on system integration.
• Support sales teams by reviewing technical proposals for international clients.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics, Optics, or a related field.
• Extensive senior-level experience (typically 8+ years) in precision mechanical or opto-mechanical design.
• Deep expertise in high-precision, high-stability mechanical design for optical systems.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD tools, specifically SolidWorks.
• Strong understanding of optical alignment techniques and optical-mechanical interfaces.
• Excellent communication skills; proficiency in English is required. Mandarin is a plus for supplier communication.
