Junior Associate - Project Finance (Indonesia Focus)

We are seeking a Junior Associate to join our Project Finance practice, with a focus on Indonesia-related transactions. This role is suited to a lawyer with experience working on project finance matters, including the negotiation of both financing documents and core project documents, who is comfortable engaging with Indonesian clients and transaction counterparts.
The successful candidate will work closely with partners and senior associates on cross-border project finance transactions across sectors, supporting transaction execution from development through financial close.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the drafting, review, and negotiation of project finance documentation, including common terms agreement, facility agreements, security documents, and direct agreements
- Support the review and negotiation of project documents, such as Power Purchase Agreements, EPC contracts, O&M agreements, and other key commercial contracts
- Conduct legal analysis and due diligence relating to project structures, risk allocation, and regulatory considerations
- Support transaction management on cross-border project finance matters involving Indonesia, including coordination with local counsel and other advisors
- Liaise with Indonesian clients, sponsors, lenders, and counterparties on transaction matters
- Provide practical and commercially focused support to senior lawyers on live transactions
Minimum Qualifications
- Qualified lawyer with at least 3 years of post-qualification experience in project finance or energy/infrastructure finance
- Experience drafting and negotiating finance documents and project documents
- Familiarity with the Indonesian market and cross-border transactions involving Indonesian projects or sponsors
- Strong drafting, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, transaction-driven environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience advising on Indonesia-related project finance transactions
- Working understanding of Bahasa Indonesia (spoken and/or written)
- Experience coordinating with Indonesian counsel on regulatory and project-specific matters
- Experience in an international or regional law firm environment
