Lead DevOps Engineer (AWS)

We are looking for an experienced Lead DevOps Engineer to design, build and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure and CI/CD platforms. You will lead DevOps initiatives, drive automation and DevSecOps best practices, while ensuring the reliability, security and performance of mission-critical systems.

• Salary Package: Up to $10,000 (basic) + AWS + VB

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation and maintenance of cloud infrastructure across development, testing and production environments.
• Build and optimise CI/CD pipelines to support reliable and automated software delivery.
• Manage system deployment, monitoring, backup and operational maintenance.
• Develop infrastructure automation using Terraform, Ansible and scripting languages.
• Design and maintain containerised platforms using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Implement DevSecOps practices, including security hardening, secrets management and secure deployment pipelines.
• Configure and maintain monitoring and observability solutions using tools such as Grafana, Prometheus and ELK.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, networking and deployment issues, and perform root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with development, product and operations teams to improve release processes and platform reliability.
• Mentor junior engineers and produce technical documentation, runbooks and troubleshooting guides.
• Continuously evaluate new technologies and recommend improvements to infrastructure and operational practices.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure or Platform Engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS, Azure or GCP cloud platforms.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, Maven or Nexus.
• Proficiency in Docker, Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Ansible or CloudFormation.
• Experience with Linux system administration ( Ubuntu/Debian).
• Knowledge of monitoring and APM tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, ELK or CloudWatch.
• Scripting skills in Python, Bash, PowerShell, Groovy or JavaScript.
• Understanding of networking concepts including load balancing, DNS, routing and TCP/IP.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and stakeholder communication skills.

Good to Have

• AWS or other cloud certifications.
• Experience with Vault, Keycloak or identity and secrets management.
• Knowledge of Kafka, microservices and event-driven architectures.
• Experience leading DevOps teams or mentoring engineers.
