Job Type: Freelance / Contract (1 to 2 hours per week)
Remuneration: $80.00 per hour
About Us: Snap Fitness is a premier commercial gym dedicated to providing top-tier fitness experiences for our members. We are expanding our combat sports and conditioning offerings and are looking for a passionate, experienced, and highly skilled Freelance Muay Thai Instructor to join our team.
The Role: We are seeking a reliable instructor to lead one to two 1-hour Muay Thai classes per week. Our studio space accommodates mid-sized groups, and you can expect an average class size of
10 to 16 participants. The ideal candidate will be able to teach authentic Muay Thai techniques while keeping the class highly active, safe, and accessible for members ranging from complete beginners to intermediate practitioners.
Key Responsibilities
Design and lead 60-minute Muay Thai classes, focusing on technique, conditioning, and pad work.
Instruct groups of 10 to 16 participants, ensuring that drills and combinations are scalable for varying fitness and skill levels.
Teach proper fundamentals, including stance, footwork, strikes (punches, kicks, knees, elbows), and basic defense.
Safely manage partner drills and heavy bag work (if applicable), and hold Thai pads effectively.
Prioritize member safety, ensuring correct form is used to prevent injuries.
Arrive 10-15 minutes prior to class to set up the studio and ensure gear (Thai pads, kick shields, heavy bags) is ready.
Ensure all shared equipment is wiped down and properly stored post-class.
Requirements
Qualifications: Verifiable coaching credentials, fight pedigree, or a recognized martial arts instructor certification.
Experience: Proven experience teaching group Muay Thai or striking classes, preferably in a commercial gym or martial arts academy setting. (Competitive fight experience is a strong plus).
Skills: High energy, strong vocal presence, and the ability to clearly break down complex movements for beginners.
Professionalism: Highly punctual, reliable, and organized.
Insurance: Must possess valid personal liability insurance
Current CPR/AED certification is highly preferred.
Schedule
One (1) to two (2) classes per week, 1 hour per class.
Days/Timing flexible (preferably evening time)
