Junior Presales Engineer

JUMBORCA PTE. LTD.

Job Summary

As a Junior Presales Engineer, you will support both presales activities and hands-on technical implementation across cloud, network, and IT infrastructure environments.

You will work closely with the sales and technical teams to understand customer requirements, assist in solution design, prepare technical proposals and documentation, and support product demonstrations, presentations, and proof-of-concept (POC) activities.

Beyond presales, you will also participate in onsite deployment, configuration, implementation, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of infrastructure solutions. You will gain practical exposure to servers, storage, networking, cloud platforms, backup, disaster recovery, and other enterprise technologies.

As part of a growing startup team, you will be expected to take ownership of assigned responsibilities and communicate proactively. As processes and requirements may continue to evolve, we value individuals who are comfortable asking questions, seeking clarification, and communicating any challenges or uncertainties rather than waiting for detailed instructions.

During quieter periods between customer or project activities, you may also support internal technical operations, documentation, equipment management, and self-learning to further develop your technical knowledge and prepare for upcoming projects.

This role is suitable for someone who is technically curious, hands-on, responsible, and keen to develop both technical engineering and client-facing skills.

  • Support infrastructure setup for internal teams and customer projects
  • Learn and apply hands-on knowledge of company products and solutions, including backup, storage, cloud, and platform technologies
  • Support post-sales technical activities, project implementation, and handover where required

Technical Operations & Continuous Learning

  • Maintain relevant technical documentation, system records, activity logs, and configuration records
  • Support the organisation and upkeep of technical equipment and resources
  • Assist with inventory checks and stock counts for IT equipment, hardware, spare parts, cables, and other technical resources
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment deployment, movement, availability, and condition where required
  • Assist with equipment preparation, testing, labelling, packing, and readiness for upcoming deployments
  • During quieter periods, make productive use of available time through self-learning, technical practice, documentation, or other relevant internal technical activities
  • Support other reasonable technical and operational activities as required

  • General understanding of servers, storage, cloud, networking, and IT infrastructure concepts
  • Strong willingness to learn and develop skills across both presales and infrastructure engineering
  • Proactive and responsible, with a willingness to take ownership of assigned work and follow through on tasks
  • Comfortable working in a startup environment where processes and requirements may continue to evolve
  • Willing to ask questions and seek clarification when unsure, and to communicate issues or roadblocks early
  • Willing to learn independently when encountering unfamiliar technical matters
  • Comfortable performing hands-on technical work, including onsite deployment and implementation
  • Comfortable communicating with customers and explaining technical concepts
