Kiosk Supervisor – Gardens by the Bay

Position Summary

The Kiosk Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operation of our snacks and beverages kiosk at Gardens by the Bay. The role ensures excellent customer service, smooth operations, proper stock and cash control, high hygiene standards, and effective supervision of kiosk staff.

Key Responsibilities

1. Daily Kiosk Operations

  • Manage the daily opening and closing of the kiosk.

  • Ensure the kiosk is fully prepared, properly stocked and ready for business.

  • Maintain smooth and efficient operations throughout each shift.

  • Ensure all equipment, refrigerators, payment terminals and other facilities are functioning properly.

  • Respond promptly to operational problems and report serious issues to management.

2. Staff Supervision

  • Supervise, guide and motivate kiosk staff during their shifts.

  • Prepare staff schedules and arrange adequate manpower for weekends, public holidays, events and peak periods.

  • Assign duties and ensure staff complete their responsibilities properly.

  • Train new staff on product knowledge, customer service, hygiene, cashiering and operating procedures.

  • Monitor staff punctuality, attendance, grooming, conduct and work performance.

  • Manage minor staff issues and report serious disciplinary matters to management.

3. Customer Service and Sales

  • Provide friendly, professional and efficient service to local and international visitors.

  • Ensure staff are familiar with all products, prices and ongoing promotions.

  • Recommend suitable snacks and drinks and encourage appropriate upselling.

  • Handle customer enquiries, feedback and complaints professionally.

  • Monitor sales performance and work towards daily or monthly sales targets.

  • Ensure the customer queue is managed efficiently during busy periods.

4. Cash and Payment Control

  • Supervise cashiering and ensure all transactions are recorded accurately.

  • Conduct opening float and closing cash counts.

  • Check cash, credit card, QR and other electronic payment collections against POS records.

  • Investigate and report any cash shortage, payment discrepancy or unusual transaction.

  • Prepare and submit daily sales and cash reports as required.

  • Ensure company funds and kiosk property are properly secured.

5. Inventory and Stock Control

  • Monitor stock levels and arrange timely replenishment.

  • Receive deliveries and check the quantity, quality and condition of goods.

  • Maintain accurate stock records and conduct regular stock counts.

  • Monitor product expiry dates and practise First-In, First-Out stock rotation.

  • Minimise wastage, spoilage, damage, over-ordering and stock shortages.

  • Report stock variances and unusual product losses to management.

6. Hygiene, Safety and Compliance

  • Maintain a clean, organised and presentable kiosk at all times.

  • Ensure food and beverages are stored, handled and served safely.

  • Ensure staff comply with company SOPs, food-safety requirements and Gardens by the Bay operating regulations.

  • Complete cleaning and food-safety records accurately.

  • Ensure staff wear the required uniform and maintain good personal hygiene.

  • Report safety hazards, pest issues, equipment faults or maintenance problems immediately.

7. Product Display and Promotions

  • Ensure products, menus, prices and promotional materials are displayed clearly.

  • Maintain attractive and well-stocked product displays.

  • Implement company promotions and seasonal campaigns correctly.

  • Monitor customer preferences and identify popular or slow-moving products.

  • Provide management with feedback on sales trends and opportunities.

8. Reporting and Communication

  • Submit daily operational, sales, stock and incident reports.

  • Communicate clearly with management, staff, suppliers and Gardens by the Bay representatives.

  • Report customer incidents, accidents, complaints, stock losses and operational problems promptly.

  • Attend meetings and carry out other reasonable duties assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in retail, food and beverage, kiosk or convenience-store operations is preferred.

  • Supervisory or team-leadership experience is an advantage.

  • Able to communicate confidently in English; additional languages are an advantage.

  • Honest, responsible, organised and customer-service oriented.

  • Comfortable handling cash, electronic payments and basic sales reports.

  • Able to work independently and lead a small team.

  • Able to stand for extended periods and handle light stock movement.

  • Must be willing to work shifts, weekends, public holidays and during special events.

  • Basic knowledge of food hygiene and workplace safety requirements.

  • Customer-service standards and feedback.

  • Cash-handling accuracy.

  • Stock accuracy and wastage control.

  • Staff attendance, discipline and productivity.
