Cloud Architect
SERVPRO PTE. LTD.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Cloud Architect to own the design and technical direction of our cloud platforms. You will translate business and application requirements into secure, scalable, and cost-efficient cloud architectures, set the standards that engineering teams build against, and act as the senior technical authority on cloud design decisions. The ideal candidate has 5–8 years of infrastructure or cloud engineering experience, including at least 2 years in a design or architecture-facing role, and can move comfortably between whiteboard sessions with stakeholders and hands-on validation of their own designs.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end architecture for cloud workloads across AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, covering compute, networking, storage, identity, and data services.
- Design landing zones, account/subscription structures, and network topologies that support multi-environment and multi-tenant requirements.
- Produce architecture artefacts — reference architectures, high- and low-level designs, decision records, and diagrams — and get them through internal and client review.
- Define and enforce Infrastructure as Code standards (e.g Terraform), including module design, state management, and review practices.
- Set the technical direction for CI/CD, release, and environment promotion strategies, and review pipeline designs built by engineering teams.
- Design the security architecture: IAM and least-privilege models, encryption and key management, segmentation, secrets handling, and logging/audit coverage.
- Architect resilience: availability targets, RTO/RPO definitions, backup and disaster recovery designs, and periodic recovery testing.
- Architect containerised and orchestrated workloads on Docker and Kubernetes, including cluster topology, ingress, service networking, scaling, and upgrade strategy.
- Act as escalation point for complex infrastructure, connectivity, and performance problems, and drive root cause analysis to design-level fixes.
- Partner with software engineering, DevOps, security, and business stakeholders to align architecture with delivery timelines and compliance obligations.
- Evaluate new cloud services, run proofs of concept, and make build-versus-buy and platform selection recommendations with clear trade-off analysis.
- Mentor cloud and DevOps engineers, conduct design and code reviews, and raise the team's overall architectural maturity.
- Support pre-sales and solutioning activities where required, including solution write-ups, effort estimation, and technical presentations to clients.
