Technician

The Technician supports day-to-day maintenance activities and vendor coordination within a GMP pharmaceutical facility environment. This role is responsible for carrying out basic maintenance tasks, supporting site inspections, monitoring vendor activities, and assisting with workplace safety and operational compliance requirements.
During facility setup, transition, or handover activities, the technician may also support defect tracking, site inspections, and coordination of corrective works together with the Facilities Management team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Vendor Coordination & Safety Support
- Coordinate and monitor vendor and contractor activities on-site to ensure compliance with site procedures and safety requirements.
- Support verification of required work permits, safety documentation, and applicable site access requirements prior to commencement of work.
- Ensure toolbox briefings or safety inductions are completed in accordance with site procedures where applicable.
- Maintain proper filing and recordkeeping of safety and operational documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
2. Site Inspections & Defect Tracking
- Conduct routine inspections of facility areas, equipment, and infrastructure to identify maintenance issues, defects, or operational concerns.
- Record and track identified defects, observations, or follow-up actions using site tracking tools or checklists.
- Escalate critical issues or operational risks to the Assistant Facilities Manager (AFM) or relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Support coordination of rectification works during facility setup, transition, or operational improvement activities.
3. Maintenance & Technical Support
- Perform basic maintenance and handyman tasks including minor repairs, adjustments, and troubleshooting activities.
- Support upkeep of facility infrastructure such as doors, fixtures, plumbing components, lighting, and general building hardware.
- Conduct daily operational checks on facility assets and common areas to ensure functionality and good housekeeping standards.
- Assist in responding to facility-related incidents, service disruptions, or operational emergencies when required.
4. GMP & Housekeeping Compliance
- Follow applicable GMP, cleanroom, and site operational procedures when working in controlled environments.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance work areas, storage locations, and tools.
- Support audit readiness by ensuring maintenance activities and workspaces comply with established operational standards.
- Promote safe work practices and comply with workplace safety procedures and site requirements.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in facilities maintenance, handyman services, building operations, or technical support roles.
- Experience within pharmaceutical, healthcare, manufacturing, cleanroom, or regulated environments is advantageous.
- Basic knowledge of building maintenance, plumbing, electrical systems, or mechanical repair activities.
- Ability to identify and document maintenance defects or operational issues accurately.
- Familiarity with workplace safety procedures and general Singapore Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) practices.
- Good organizational and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with vendors and internal teams.
- Ability to perform site-based operational and maintenance activities in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office or digital reporting tools is advantageous.
