Key Responsibilities

Cost Accounting & Project Tracking

  • Track and analyse production and construction project costs (labour, materials, equipment, and overhead)

  • Perform percentage-of-completion accounting for contracts

  • Compare actual costs to budgeted costs and report variances

  • Monitor work-in-progress (WIP) inventory and physical stock counts in the manufacturing plant

General Accounting & Operations

  • Manage full-set accounts, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and General Ledger (GL)

  • Process vendor invoices, subcontractor payments, and payroll allocations

  • Reconcile bank statements, balance sheet accounts, and sub-ledgers monthly

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

Compliance & Reporting

  • Prepare tax filings, including GST (Goods and Services Tax) or local corporate taxes

  • Work with external auditors during annual financial audits

  • Ensure financial practices comply with local accounting standards (e.g., SFRS / IFRS)

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Possess a Degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field

  • Minimum 8 years of hands-on accounting experience

  • Prior experience in the manufacturing, construction, or engineering sector is a strong advantage

  • Strong knowledge of job costing and contract accounting principles

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., AUTOCount, SAP, MYOB, or QuickBooks) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills

  • Good understanding of internal controls, tax regulations, and financial reporting

  • Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail
