ABOUT THE ROLE
The Helping Hand is seeking a Communications & Campaigns Assistant Manager to support our fundraising, donor engagement, partnerships, and public awareness efforts. The role will develop engaging content, manage communications channels, and support campaigns that strengthen stakeholder engagement and raise awareness of our mission and impact.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Content & Communications
- Develop stories and content featuring our programmes, residents, volunteers, donors, and partners.
- Create content for newsletters, fundraising appeals, annual reports, websites, social media, and marketing materials.
- Conduct interviews and gather testimonials, photographs, videos, and other content.
- Translate programme outcomes and impact into clear and engaging communications.
- Ensure consistency with the organisation’s brand, values, and messaging.
Digital Communications
- Manage website and social media content.
- Develop content calendars and support email marketing campaigns.
- Monitor digital engagement and recommend improvements to reach and engagement.
Campaign & Fundraising Support
- Support fundraising campaigns, events, community engagement, and public awareness initiatives.
- Develop promotional materials and communication assets across print and digital channels.
- Coordinate campaign communications and support post-campaign reporting.
Media & Public Relations
- Draft press releases, media materials, annual report content, and external communications.
- Support media engagement and publicity opportunities.
- Maintain an organised library of photographs, videos, testimonials, and communication assets.
- Ensure beneficiary stories are communicated sensitively and appropriately.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma or Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Mass Communication, or a related field.
- Preferably 3–5 years of relevant experience in communications, marketing, content, campaigns, or public relations.
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
- Experience with social media, websites, email communications, and digital content.
- Good project coordination and stakeholder management skills.
- Familiarity with design, photography, videography, or digital analytics tools would be an advantage.
- Collaborative, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Interest in the social service sector and alignment with The Helping Hand’s mission and values.
