Job Summary
The F&B Service Team Leader supports outlet management by leading service staff during shifts, ensuring smooth operations, consistent service standards, and a positive guest and team experience at our hotel's chinese restaurant.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise service staff during shifts to maintain smooth floor operations and uphold service standards
- Oversee table set-ups, mise en place, and restaurant readiness before service periods
- Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate delivery of orders
- Manage guest interactions professionally, including welcoming, seating, and resolving service concerns promptly
- Monitor service flow and proactively resolve bottlenecks during peak periods
- Train, coach, and mentor junior service staff and new hires on service standards, menu knowledge, and hotel procedures
- Assist in scheduling, briefing, and allocating duties among team members on shift
- Ensure compliance with hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety standards, including HACCP/SFA guidelines
- Support accurate cash handling, billing, and point-of-sale procedures
- Monitor stock levels of service items such as linen, cutlery, and glassware, and coordinate replenishment
- Assist management with administrative tasks including attendance records, incident reports, and shift handover notes
- Uphold the hotel's brand standards and represent Peach Blossoms professionally at all times
- Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by outlet management
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Minimum 2–3 years of relevant F&B service experience, preferably in a hotel or fine-dining Chinese restaurant setting
- Prior experience in a supervisory or team leader role
- Familiarity with Chinese restaurant service etiquette and Cantonese cuisine service
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to lead and motivate a team
- Guest-focused mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to work split shifts, including weekends and public holidays
- Basic proficiency in point-of-sale (POS) systems
- Good command of English; proficiency in Mandarin or other languages to facilitate guest and vendor communication
