Role Overview
The Event Manager leads the end-to-end planning, operational delivery, and financial oversight of live events, corporate functions, and entertainment experiences. This role coordinates cross-functional teams, external vendors, and venue partners to deliver high-quality event productions while ensuring strict schedule adherence and full compliance with workplace safety standards.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Event Planning & Operational Strategy
- Conceptualise, plan, and execute comprehensive production timelines and run sheets for live, corporate, and private events.
- Define project milestones, scope, resource allocations, and operational deliverables in alignment with business objectives.
- Formulate robust risk assessments and contingency protocols to ensure seamless execution across all event stages.
Vendor Management & Budget Oversight
- Prepare, track, and reconcile project budgets, controlling production expenses to achieve maximum operational efficiency.
- Source, negotiate, and manage contracts with external suppliers, audio-visual providers, staging crews, decorators, and talent agencies.
- Oversee procurement schedules, equipment transport, and technical logistics across the entire event lifecycle.
On-Site Production & Execution
- Supervise on-site load-in, stage setups, live technical rehearsals, and tear-down operations.
- Lead on-site event crew, technical teams, and front-of-house staff to ensure master run sheets are executed with precision.
- Troubleshoot urgent operational, technical, or logistical bottlenecks swiftly during live running.
- Enforce venue safety regulations, crowd control measures, and local statutory licensing requirements at all times.
Stakeholder Liaison & Reporting
- Act as the key operational point of contact for clients, performers, venue owners, and cross-functional teams.
- Conduct post-event debriefs, gathering stakeholder feedback and compiling comprehensive operational and financial reconciliation reports.
Requirements
- Relevant Diploma or Degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Mass Communications, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience managing live events, entertainment productions, or corporate functions.
- Demonstrated capability in budget administration, vendor negotiation, and technical run-sheet execution.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and verbal communication skills under fast-paced live event conditions.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, aligned with event setups and live show timings.
