Curriculum Designer (Early Childhood / AI Literacy)
GLOBAL INNOVATION EDUCATION GROUP LLP
About the Role
GIEG is building Singapore's first storybook-based AI literacy curriculum for young learners — a series designed to teach children how to learn, use, and be responsible with AI through original illustrated storybooks, mapped to early childhood learning frameworks.
We are looking for a Curriculum Designer to lead the pedagogical design of this programme — translating engaging storybook content into a structured, age-appropriate curriculum suitable for both government-linked preschools and private enrichment settings across Singapore.
This is a rare opportunity to shape a first-of-its-kind national-scale early childhood AI literacy programme from the ground up.

What You'll Do
- Design and structure curriculum content mapped to the Nurturing Early Learners (NEL) framework
- Translate storybook narratives into clear learning objectives, lesson flows, and facilitation guides for preschool teachers
- Ensure content is developmentally appropriate for K1/K2 learners (ages 5–6), balancing engagement with pedagogical soundness
- Design hands-on learning activities (discussion prompts, tactile/craft tasks, group activities) that bring each storybook's lesson to life in the classroom — not just written curriculum documents
- Design lightweight assessment and progress-tracking tools appropriate for early childhood settings
- Collaborate with writers, illustrators, and subject matter reviewers to ensure content is classroom-ready
- Support the adaptation of core curriculum content for different delivery contexts (government-linked preschools vs private enrichment centres)
- Provide input on teacher training/onboarding materials to ensure non-specialist educators can deliver the programme confidently
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education (NIEC or ECDA-recognised qualification preferred)
- Demonstrated experience designing or adapting curriculum against the NEL framework
- Prior classroom or centre-based teaching experience in a Singapore preschool setting
- Strong written communication skills — able to translate complex ideas into simple, age-appropriate language
Preferred
- Background in instructional design or learning science (scaffolding, learning objectives, outcome measurement)
- Experience designing content for both institutional/government and private commercial settings
- Familiarity with digital or STEM literacy curriculum design (no technical AI expertise required)
- Prior experience with MOE Kindergarten, PCF, or NTUC My First Skool curriculum teams is a strong plus
Mindset we value: you design from the child outward, not the technology inward — treating AI as a subject to be made age-appropriate, the same way a designer would approach any new topic for young learners.
What You'll Get
- The opportunity to shape a pioneering national-scale AI literacy programme from its earliest stages
- Direct collaboration with a founding team and senior education advisors, including ex-MOE leadership
- A creative, mission-driven environment based at NTU One-North
- Flexible arrangement options for the right candidate (full-time, part-time, or consulting basis considered)
How to Apply
Interested candidates should submit their CV along with a short note on their experience with early childhood curriculum design and the NEL framework.
