NC CONTRACTOR PTE. LTD.
About the role
We are seeking a talented Project Quantity Surveyor (remote working / Work From Home) to join our dynamic team at NC CONTRACTOR PTE. LTD. In this full-time remote role, you will take ownership of the commercial and cost management of our live construction projects — ensuring works are accurately measured, progress claims are timely, variations are properly valued, and every project is delivered within budget.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full post-contract commercial function for assigned projects, from contract award through to final account settlement
Prepare, submit and follow up on monthly progress claims, payment applications and payment responses in line with contract and SOP Act requirements
Measure and value completed works on site, including remeasurement of provisional quantities
Price, negotiate and agree variations, site instructions and claims for extension of time or loss and expense
Prepare and administer subcontractor and supplier packages — tender comparison, letters of award, progress payments, back-charges and final accounts
Monitor project cost against budget, produce monthly cost reports and cash flow forecasts, and flag cost overruns early
Administer the contract day to day: correspondence, notices, records and contemporaneous documentation to protect the company's position
Liaise with clients, consultants, QS consultants and the project team to resolve commercial issues and certify works
Support project close-out, retention recovery and final account agreement
- Feed actual project cost data back into the tender and estimating database
Required competencies and certifications
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Project Quantity Surveyor, preferably in the construction industry.
Sound working knowledge of construction contracts (e.g. SIA, PSSCOC, REDAS) and the Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act.
Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications and contracts, and in measurement and remeasurement.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects concurrently.
Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, subcontractors and consultants.
Familiarity with measurement / digital takeoff tools and cost management or bluebeam software.
- Proven track record of managing progress claims, variations and final accounts to successful settlement.
