Senior Piping Engineer – (Marine, Shipbuilding & FPSO)
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and installation of piping systems for marine vessels, shipyards, and FPSO projects.
- Ensure compliance with international marine standards, ASME codes, and classification society requirements (ABS, DNV, Lloyd’s Register).
- Prepare and review piping layouts, isometric drawings, and material specifications.
- Conduct stress analysis, hydraulic calculations, and ensure integrity of piping systems under marine and offshore conditions.
- Supervise fabrication, installation, and commissioning activities at shipyards and offshore sites.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation engineers.
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and leadership to junior engineers.
- Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and project timelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Marine, or Piping Engineering.
- 8+ years’ experience in piping design and engineering for shipbuilding or offshore projects (FPSO preferred).
- Strong knowledge of ASME codes (e.g., ASME B31.3 for process piping, ASME Section VIII for pressure vessels).
- Familiarity with marine classification society rules (ABS, DNV, Lloyd’s Register).
- Proficiency in piping design software (PDMS, AutoCAD Plant 3D, Caesar II).
- Hands‑on experience with fabrication, installation, and commissioning of piping systems.
- Strong leadership, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel and work offshore when required.
