Research Manager - Public Health

Function: Research / Public Health / Social & Behavioural Research

The successful candidate will support the planning, coordination and day-to-day implementation of research activities, working closely with multidisciplinary teams and internal and external stakeholders. The role offers an opportunity to contribute to policy-relevant research involving literature and policy reviews, stakeholder engagement, participant recruitment, qualitative and quantitative data collection, data management and analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the research team in conducting quantitative sociobehavioural and community research projects at CDA.

  • Coordinate and implement field research activities, including participant recruitment, scheduling, panel tracking and participant retention strategies for longitudinal studies.

  • Conduct data collection and management, maintain research databases, and perform basic data analysis and quality checks.

  • Support the preparation and maintenance of study materials, research protocols, documentation and project timelines.

  • Conduct literature and policy reviews and assist with basic statistical analyses using relevant research software.

  • Support interviews, surveys and community engagement activities in accordance with study protocols and ethical requirements.

  • Coordinate research logistics and liaise with participants, field staff, community partners and institutional stakeholders.

  • Assist in preparing research reports, presentations, manuscripts and other research deliverables.

  • Provide administrative and coordination support for research projects and contribute to day-to-day study operations.

  • Undertake other research-related duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Public Health, Communication, Epidemiology, Psychology, Sociology or a related social science discipline.

  • Demonstrated experience in survey methodology, participant recruitment, data collection, or analysis in social or public health research.

  • Experience in survey research operations, field coordination, or longitudinal panel data collection is highly desirable.

  • Strong organisational and project-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, coordinate logistics, and meet deadlines.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with participants, field staff, and collaborative partners.

  • Familiarity with data-management systems (e.g., Qualtrics or similar platforms) and basic data analysis skills (e.g., SPSS, R).

  • Understanding of research ethics, participant confidentiality, and data-protection requirements.

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary research environment.

  • Prior experience in public health, community engagement, or panel-based research is an advantage.
