Assistant Director of Nursing

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and evaluate nursing services in consultation with the Director of Nursing (DON)
• Lead and supervise the nursing and care teams, providing clinical guidance and support
• Coordinate residential care activities with Nurse Managers and the nursing team
• Conduct nursing rounds and follow up on clinical, safety and service issues
• Monitor and improve the quality of nursing care through audits, quality improvement initiatives and corrective actions
• Ensure compliance with infection control, fire safety, security and nursing standards
• Investigate and manage unusual incidents, escalating matters to the DON when required
• Work closely with residents, relatives and multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective care coordination
• Monitor residents' changing care needs and recommend improvements to nursing services
• Ensure adequate manpower, appropriate staff skill mix and proper coverage across shifts
• Oversee nursing competencies, staff performance appraisal and professional development
• Support the DON in new programmes, projects and operational matters, and deputies in the DON's absence.
• Participate in staff training, nursing committees, quality improvement projects and other assigned duties.

Requirements

• Fully Registered Nurse with the Singapore Nursing Board (SNB)
• Degree in Nursing or equivalent health-related qualification
• Advanced Diploma in a relevant clinical specialty
• 10 years of progressive clinical and administrative experience in acute or residential care
• 2 years' experience in a similar position in a medium/large nursing home, OR 5 years' experience as a Senior Nurse Manager in an acute hospital, community hospital or nursing home
• Evidence of continuous professional development
