General Manager – Waste Management & Operations

• S$9,000 to S$12,000 basic + bonus

• 5.5-day work week, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM; Saturday, 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Our client is an established company in the waste management and environmental services industry, providing waste collection, disposal, recycling, and related environmental solutions. The company is committed to safe, efficient, compliant, and sustainable operations.

We are seeking an experienced General Manager to oversee the company's overall operations, business performance, financial management, regulatory compliance, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the waste management facility.

• Manage waste collection, transportation, processing, disposal, and recycling activities.

• Develop and implement operational and business strategies to drive growth and efficiency.

• Manage budgets, costs, resources, and overall financial performance.

• Set and monitor KPIs to improve operational and business results.

• Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements.

• Drive waste reduction, recycling, sustainability, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Lead safety, quality, and environmental inspections and audits.

• Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.

• Lead department heads and employees across Operations, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service.

• Set performance objectives and develop a high-performing team.

• Maintain strong relationships with customers and address service issues promptly.

• Identify opportunities for cost savings, operational improvements, and business growth.

• Prepare management reports, budgets, forecasts, and performance updates.

• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

• Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Minimum 5 years of relevant waste management experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.

• Relevant waste management or environmental services industry experience is essential.

• Good knowledge of waste disposal, recycling practices, and environmental regulations.

• Strong experience in operations, budgeting, financial management, and cost control.

• Proven leadership experience managing teams and multiple departments.

• Waste management or environmental-related certification will be an advantage.

• Valid driving licence and own car required.
