Data Engineer – SQL |Banking

We are looking for a hands-on Data Engineer to join the technology team of a leading financial institution.
This is a SQL-heavy engineering role for someone who enjoys coding, working with large datasets and building reliable data pipelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimise complex SQL queries, stored procedures and data transformations
- Build and maintain ETL/ELT data pipelines
- Work with large-scale datasets, data warehouses and relational databases
- Perform data integration, validation and quality checks
- Troubleshoot production/data issues and optimise performance
- Work closely with technology and business teams to deliver data solutions
What we're looking for
- 5–10 years of experience in Data Engineering / ETL / Database Development
- Strong hands-on SQL coding skills — this is essential
- Experience with Python / PySpark is an advantage
- Strong understanding of data modelling and data warehousing
- Experience with ETL tools, Git and CI/CD
- Banking / Financial Services experience is mandatory
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
