About This Role

We are recruiting for a new product and looking for a research-minded content creator with strong writing skills. Working closely with the founder, you will keep track of key developments in tech, AI, startups and business ecosystems in China and the US. You will synthesize scattered, complex and even conflicting information into well-sourced, structured, insightful long-form content in both English and Chinese.

This is not a content operations role for churning out trending stories, gossip or promotional copy. We are looking for someone genuinely curious about problems, rigorous with information quality, and willing to dig for critical facts, perspectives and variables.

What You Will Do

- Track first-hand information on AI, software, tech business, startups and investment in China and the US, including interviews, podcasts, research reports, financial statements, product launches and overseas discussions.

- Independently conduct research and write on designated topics: frame research questions, sort out competing viewpoints, verify sources, and produce in-depth content with clear conclusions.

- Iterate on content topics, outlines, writing styles and distribution strategies.

- Break down long-form research into shareable snippets for social platforms, while preserving accuracy and traceable sources.

- Collaborate with the team to identify promising research topics and validate early content directions.

Requirements

- Currently pursuing a Master’s degree or higher. Backgrounds in Journalism & Communication, Economics & Finance, Business, STEM, Computer Science, Social Sciences and related fields are all welcome.

- At least one internship experience in deep content creation, industry research, investment research, consulting, tech media, strategy research or related fields.

- Portfolio of research or writing samples. Please attach at least one piece, preferably demonstrating independent topic selection, English information comprehension and research & writing capabilities.

- Advanced English proficiency: able to efficiently read long English interviews, podcast transcripts, research papers, corporate documents and discussions on overseas social platforms; capable of nuanced contextual understanding beyond machine translation.

- Solid writing skills: able to explain complex concepts clearly. Comfortable writing both engaging articles and structured, evidence-backed research pieces.

- Strong awareness of information integrity: able to distinguish facts, opinions, speculation and marketing rhetoric. Willing to trace original sources for citations.

- Long-term, specific interest in at least one of these areas: AI, tech business, startups or investment, rather than casual surface-level following.

Preferred Qualifications

- Regular reader of English tech, business or investment content, with established personal information sources and research routines.

- Familiar with overseas information ecosystems including LinkedIn, X, Substack, podcasts, YouTube and industry databases.

- Prior experience in startups, VC/PE, consulting, tech media, think tanks or internet corporate strategy.

- Able to leverage AI tools to streamline research and organization, but never treat unvalidated AI outputs as final conclusions.

- Good sense of visual communication, information graphics or content productization; design sensibility is a plus.

- Avid podcast listener.
